New User

Category: Bloglonbro @ 12:45 pm

Hello, I am Hayden Lonbro, a new SNP joiner. Let me describe my night tonight; Pizza, Energy drink, Games, Super hyperactive Rave dancing. Fun fun and more fun out the wazoo. Being a new SNP user i belive it would be friendly to describe myself. Just think of a talking Cat, then add thumbs, then add a bunch of energy drinks and “Mind expandents” and then you have me. :)

June Lan- Last run for my gun

Category: Blogrobin @ 7:19 pm

Hey guys,

I’ll cut right to the chase, I’m stoked for the June LAN party this week, as it will mark the last week of my gaming run for the summer (as i will be leaving for other activities)

I dont plan to sleep :D

But, onto some new gaming news which you may not know about

-Xbox 360’s will soon be able to check facebook and twitter from the Xbox console, this feature will be available in the fall. I’m guessing this is due to the fact that microsoft is pairing up with facebook and trying to get people to link accounts. (BUT due to having a web browser of some sorts, this pretty much for all the modding community, hello console web browsing and other possibilities)

-ESRB are claiming that the Left 4 Dead 2 box art with 2 fingures bitten off, is a little to graphic for box art. So the box art is changed to the two fingures which were bitten off to them just hiding them behind there hand. Sounds like ESRB is liking germany does it not?

-Try this combo all you gaming lovers out there, Bioshock AND oblivion, all in one box. thats right, the amazing underwater city meets medival spell casting entertainment.

-Why didn’t they use Fallout 3? thats because Fallout 3 is making yet another expansion pack, details will come soon

I’ll see you all later

-Rob

June 18th Party

Category: BlogJay Miller @ 4:21 pm

It is confirmed: after checking my email today, we are allowed to use the facilities at Bayridge Alliance Church again. This time, we are hosting 20 people and new hosts are stepping up to the plate; Myles Dyble and Ashley Tugnette, two of our most recent members. The details will come out later this week, but I have requested internet access for all through a single host computer, from another source all the wiring needed, and we need a parent chaperon for the event which will last 7 PM until 7 AM. Any parent above the age of 18 is suitable.

Here's our souvenir from the last event at Bayridge Alliance Church. Let's do it again!

Many questions are sure to flood me, and I can share with you now only estimates. Since I will be providing the cable but not attending the party wholly (in spirit, yes), I need to ensure that everyone is liable to pay the cost of any broken cable. This means that numbered seats are necessary, along with a numbered wire. Ethernet cable is expensive unless we can get Kyle to crimp some nice, new wires for us (it still seems impossible) and thus we need to get each attendant to sign their liability for the wiring.

The cost?: Last time we held an event at the church, people wanted pizza first thing. Here’s the deal: no pizza will be ordered before 11 PM by the host. Why? We commence the party strictly after dinner time so that people can come prepared to the event unhungry. We ask all participants to provide their own snack food, whatever that may be, and if you would like to order a pizza to bring an additional $5 to the event.

The church is quite modest, and so it is in our power to decide whether or not we make a donation at a general assembly earlier that day. Nevertheless, Super Nerd Party does require some money to operate and so for this we will ask for a small amount of admission (<$20) and clarify the exact amount by next week.

It is destined to be a small, cheap, but fun event to show how much growth and success we’ve achieved in the past two years. Live, Super Nerd Party! More updates later.

Upcoming LAN

Category: BlogJay Miller @ 4:04 pm

I’m in cahootz with the staff at Bayridge Alliance Church for the second time this year and I’m hoping to launch a 20-person LAN party for the end of June. Features in mind include, but are not limited to:

  • Film booth
  • Console booth
  • Role play session
  • Sponsored by Bawls, Crucial, Intel, and more

Under one condition: the parking cone we left there last time must be removed. It was our present, but the pastor wants to make room in his office and remember us not by our idol, the Pylon, but by having us frequent.

The idea of having another public LAN party is very intriguing because it means that we’re expanding; no longer can we refine our community to a 6-person batch in our basements, but actually grow enough to use public facilities on a monthly basis: this is where we’re headed, and with growth in mind, Super Nerd Party has an opportunity to prosper.

I’m going to try to find a representative from downtown high schools for Super Nerd Party so that we may expand our nerd events to many students from many schools. I am always in cahootz with someone nowadays, and I’m looking at several nerds I met during the Model U.N. at KCVI in March. It’s exciting, but even more exciting are the secret announcements to be made at Super Nerd Party in June. Long live, Super Nerd Party.
